It's all about your preference!
Kolkata Street Chai, a vibrant and aromatic tea, is a staple on the bustling streets of Kolkata. Known for its bold and spicy flavor, this chai is a distinctive blend of strong tea leaves, an array of spices, and sweetened milk. Unlike the somewhat subdued masala chai found in other regions, Kolkata Street Chai packs a a stronger punch with its intense spiciness, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. During my travels to Kolkata, I indulged in numerous cups of this invigorating tea, and came to prefer it over the Assam Masala chai.
Here’s how I eventually mastered making Kolkata Street Chai. While there are various methods, my approach has changed through observing the skilled chai wallahs and experimenting with different spice combinations. This blend consistently produced a robust and flavorful chai, capturing the essence of Kolkata’s vibrant street culture.
