It's all about your preference!
Masala chai, also known as Spiced Chai, is a beloved traditional Indian tea that combines a rich blend of spices, ginger, and milk. While it’s more commonly enjoyed in Indian culture than in Pakistani culture, my in my frequent traveling to india I savored countless cups of this delicious tea. The addition of spices to masala chai transforms an ordinary cup of tea into a delightful experience, making it extra relaxing, calming, and soothing to the senses.
Here’s how I eventually came to prefer making masala chai. There are many methods, and my approach evolved over time and varied with different chai from different regions, but this method consistently produced a delicious and well-balanced chai.
What you will need:
step by step recipe
01
Simmer a half mug of water.
02
Add a spoonful of the loose leaf chai to the water and let it steep for 4-5 minutes.
03
Warm up about a half mug of your choice of milk. Add the milk to the tea and stir.
Optional: Use the frother to aerate the chai and make it more creamy
04
Strain the tea into a mug and sweeten as desired with a touch of honey or sugar.
Optional: add a very light touch of cinnamon.
05
Now enjoy the perfect cup of Masala Chai!
