Zooming In on Your Screen To make things easier to see, you can enlarge your screen. Here’s how:
On Windows: Press the Windows key and the plus sign (+) simultaneously to zoom in. You can also use the “Magnifier” application found under “Accessories”. On Mac: Go to “System Preferences”, open “Universal Access”, and select the “Seeing” tab. Check the box under “Zoom” to turn it on. On Apple Devices: Tap “Settings”, then “General”, then “Accessibility”. Tap the “Zoom” button and toggle it on. You can also use “Ctrl” (“Cmd” on Mac) plus the plus (+) or minus (-) keys when in a web browser.
Changing Color Contrast and Fonts Adjusting colors or fonts can help make text clearer:
In Internet Explorer: Go to “Tools”, then “Internet Options”, then “General”. From here, you can select “Colors”, “Fonts”, or “Accessibility”. In Mozilla Firefox: Choose “Options”, then “Content”, and then “Fonts & Colors”. In Safari: Select “Preferences”, go to the “Appearance” tab, and click the “Select…” button next to the font fields. In Chrome: Go to “Preferences”, activate the “Show advanced settings” link, navigate to the “Web content” heading, and change the “Font size”, “Customize fonts” in other ways, or set the default “Page zoom”.
Finding a Screen Reader Screen readers are text-to-speech software that help people who are blind or have low vision access information on computers or mobile devices. Free options include NVDA for Windows and VoiceOver for Mac. JAWS for Windows is also widely used.
